In an interview with VoyageLA, Evelyn Baez Nguyen, a successful realtor and a multi-family specialist at Lyon Stahl Investment Real Estate, shares her journey of rising to the top of the industry. She talked about her early days, her goals, and how she ended up as a renowned name in the market. Here is how the interview went:
Early Life - An Entrepreneur Since Childhood!
Evelyn Baez Nguyen told the interviewer that she grew up in Lake Elsinore, CA. Moreover, she’s half Mexican and half Guatemalan. Also, she completed her bachelor’s in Communications and Business Marketing at Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2019. And she was an entrepreneur from the start. At the age of 6, she started selling candy bars, snacks, and bookmarks with her friends. Although the entrepreneurial spirit was always in her, she wanted to become a famous personality on TV. That’s what she told her teacher in fifth grade. However, her teacher had already seen the businesswoman in her.

“Evelyn Baez Nguyen, you’re going to become a very successful businesswoman. That’s what you’re going to be.”
She always liked the idea of being able to manage her own money. After all, it gave her the freedom to buy whatever she wanted – like toys that her parents thought were not worth it. At a very early age, she learned how to borrow money, make profits, and pay back the loan amount. As a kid, her mother used to lend her money on a weekly basis and she used to pay her back. Eventually, she expanded her merchandise purchase which increased her earnings too.
College Days & Affiliation with Lyon Stahl Investment Real Estate
During her college days, Evelyn Baez Nguyen still wished to “be on TV and famous”. However, actually, her interest had shifted toward working with a production company and attending different events. But she didn’t want to work as an employee – under someone – for a lifetime. Therefore, she started looking for better opportunities that would give her the freedom she wanted while working and earning.
After her graduation, she began to work as a broker on the West Side of LA. It was a full-time assistant job and was a diverse learning experience for Evelyn Baez Nguyen. There, she learned everything about work ethics, punctuality, and more. She even started reading books and exploring the bible. In short, she experienced growth in all aspects of her life. After she got her license, she decided to pursue a career in Commercial Real Estate. And for the past four years, she’s been working with Lyon Stahl Investment Real Estate.b

Challenges She Faced Along the Way!
When the interviewer asked about the challenges she faced throughout the way, she told that her professional journey was a learning experience. She quoted, “Nothing worth having comes easy” & “short-term loss for long-term gain”. By saying so, she meant that the easy way takes you nowhere and for long-term success you have to face short-term failures. She also told that there were a lot of sacrifices that made her lonely but all those made her closer to achieving her goals. To conclude, she said that to achieve success you have to learn to keep your goals at priority and to say NO!

Her top focus is teaching the Latino Community how to successfully acquire apartments and leverage their equity to build a bigger portfolio.
